The major roads and frame are cut from 1/8" birch and placed over 1/8" cherry wood with smaller roads engraved throughout. The entire map is placed over a blue backer layer so that bodies of water pop against the natural wood color.
* For an additional fee, a sheet of translucent blue acrylic can be used as a backer for a reflective quality that also allows some light for a "glowing" effect when slightly back lit.
The wooden parts of the map are sealed with a light coat of non-toxic shellac.
**INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDERING**
1. Fill in the personalization with the name of the city and any custom text you want in the "city name area". If no text customization is indicated, the city name will be displayed. A proof will be sent to you before production begins.
